Join a local tour for half day Navigation Magdalena & Marta Islands, with transfers included

We navigate everyday through the Strait of Magellan to Magdalena and marta Island. Magdalena Island hosts more than 150000 penguins every year and Marta Island hosts around 1000 sea lions

Season: From October 1st until April 5th

Trip length: 4,30 hr

Both islands form an interesting ecosystem, making an obligatory visit for any visitor, whereas Marta Island lodges more than 1000 Sea lions, Cormorants, Skuas, Austral seagull, Antartic pigeon and Sea elephants. The Magdalena Island allows us to interact with one of the majors colonies of Magellan Penguins, going beyond the 150,000 birds. During the navigation it is possible to sight Austral Dolphins and Overas Toninas (kind of dolphins).

To protect wild life, Marta Island is only circumnavigated to admire and photograph the Colony and the diversity of marine birds that live there. However in Magdalena Island it is possible to disembark for about one hour, to walk and to interact with the colony. This excursion departure is from the local office every day, depending on weather conditions.

After the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Puerto Natales.

DAY 04: PUERTO NATALES

Full day Torres del Paine National Park (With Lunch)

The Torres del Paine in the province of Ultima Esperanza National Park, receives visitors from around the world, captivated by its incredible scenic beauty. The tour starts early in the morning, crossing the Natural Monument Milodon Cave, a paleontological and archeological site located 24 kms from Puerto Natales, and keeps a fascinating story about the first inhabitants of the province and the discovery of a prehistoric animal in 1895.
The route continues towards “Lago Grey”, a walk through ancient forests and the homonymous beach to continue towards
“Lago Pehoe”, considered one of the 10 most beautiful lakes in the world.
After a break, continue towards the Salto Grande (12 meters high waterfall), visiting later the viewpoint of “Lago Nordenskjöld”, in front of the horns of Paine.
The route continues with visiting the “Cascada Paine”, “Lago Sarmiento” and “Laguna Amarga”, places of great natural value, and pristine postal of the Torres del Paine National Park, returning to Puerto Natales at the end of the day. Return to your hotel in Puerto Natales.

DAY 05: PUERTO NATALES

FULL DAY NAVIGATION BALMACEDA & SERRANO GLACIERS (With lunch)

An excursion will allow you to know a diverse fauna towards the glacier sighting. On the road, you will appreciate striking birds such as cormorants, sea lions on rocks and watching condors in areas of streams as it approaches the Balmaceda Mountain (2035 meters altitude) where you can appreciate the glacier of the same name. Then disembark at Puerto Toro to start one hour walk round the shore of the lagoon “Tempanos”, accompanied by our bilingual guide. Through a native forest of “coihues”, “ñirres” and “ciruelillos”, toward the Serrano glacier, you will enjoy the fascinating vegetation surrounding the imposing massif of ice.
After witnessing aunique, wild and unspoiled landscape, you will complete the navigation anchoring in Puerto Natales. Return to your hotel in Puerto Natales.

DAY 06: PUERTO NATALES TO PUNTA ARENAS, TO PUERTO MONTT &PUERTO VARAS

Fly from Punta Arenas to Puerto Montt and on arrival transfer by road to Puerto Varas.

HALF DAY CITY TOUR PUERTO MONTT & PUERTO VARAS

We’ll begin the tour visiting the highest place in Puerto Montt city, where we will see the most beautiful view of the city, the ocean and Tenglo Island. From there we’ll go to the German Monument located in the main square and the Cathedral, enjoying during the visit the German influence in the architecture of the houses, garden and buildings, and the mix of both cultures. Later we continue going to Angelmó, famous in Chile because it has many hand crafts and gifts shops, and of course the City Central Market, where we can see how it works one of the principal economic activities, the fishing and sea food, that gets there fresh from the boats to the buyers. Here we also have typical cooking places, basically restaurants where you can find sea food, fishes and other delicious specialties of the Chilean cuisine. Along the Pan-American road after 18 km we get to the lovely Puerto Varas, also known as “The City of the Roses”, to see the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus built during the year of 1915 to 1918, Baroque Style it’s an exact replica of a church in Black Forest, Germany. From there came some of the colonizers since 1852, The Old Neighbourhood, after that we will go to the downtown by the shore of the beautiful Llanquihue lake and depending on weather we will see the Osorno Volcano with its ice melting enhance the water level of the Llanquihue lake.

DAY 07: PUERTO VARAS

HALF DAY FRUTILLAR AND PUERTO OCTAY EXCURSION

We start our trip to Frutillar first visiting the city of Llanquihue, famous for their sausages, where Maullin River begins, and part of the ancient Route of Settlers. In the city we visit the Memorial to the German Colonists, and then we will continue along the Llanquihue Lake to Frutillar city. This city is a beautiful village that recalls the old Bavaria, from whence were the first settlers who arrived to this area. The city started in 1856 as a boarding pier, soon appeared tanneries, mills, breweries, etc. We will walk around its beautiful old houses of German style, admiring the gardens and incomparable views of the volcanoes Osorno and Puntiagudo. As an option, passengers can go to the German Colonial Museum which portrays the life of the settlers (tickets not included), and at the lake shore observe the “Teatro del Lago” where each year is presented the famous Frutillar Musical Week, a Summer Festival which presents classic music from Chile and abroad that offer each year in approximately 40 concerts. From here we go to Puerto Octay, also located by the north shore of the lake, with a strong German influence it was the most important gateway to the agricultural products to Osorno city. We will see the ancient streets, the Main Square and the viewing point.

DAY 08: PUERTO VARAS

HALF DAY PETROHUE EXCURSION

This tour starts going to Vicente Perez Rosales National Park, on a road by the Llanquihue lake shore, enjoying the landscape and magnificent view of the volcanoes Osorno and Calbuco until we get to Petrohue located near the “Todos los Santos” Lake. There we can take a soft walk surrounded by an ever green forest, the Osorno volcano and the beautiful Turquoise colour of Petrohue River. By paying
an entrance fee to the National Park we get to see one of the most beautiful places of the country, “Petrohue River Falls”, a place where the river jumps great masses of lava crystallized immune to erosion for centuries and formed by smaller stones together by a glassy material that highlights the light. You can’t miss it. Return to your hotel in Puerto Varas.

DAY 09: PUERTO VARAS TO PUERTO MONTT TO SANTIAGO

DAY 10: SANTIAGO

HALF DAY CITY TOUR WITH SAN CRISTOBAL HILL

The tour that starts from the Funicular de Santiago (Gondola), which provides a stunning and panoramic view over the city from the top of San Cristobal Hill.
You then travel to the heart of the city and Plaza de Armas the spot from where the city has grown throughout the centuries. Each Latin city has a plaza de Armas as when cities were founded the center was also where the armory and military base was established – hence the name Plaza de Armas (Plaza of Arms). Visit some of the more important buildings such as the Cathedral, the City Council, the Central Post Office and the National Historical Museum.
Continue to the Presidential Palace “La Moneda”; the current seat of the government. You will wander the streets that were once elegant at the beginning of the 19th century and now are a commercial center.
You will also visit some the original colonial neighborhoods such as Concha y Toro Square. Characterized by its cobbled streets and old mansions that reflect the elegance and richness of the early twentieth century the neighborhood grew to prominence between 1870 and 1876 with the influx of wealth as a result of mining and the discovery of Silver. Many Chileans achieved great wealth, including Enrique Concha y Toro founder of the famed winery.

DAY 11: SANTIAGO

HALF DAY SANTA RITA VINERY WITH TASTING AND ANDEAN MUSEUM

Pick up from your hotel in Santiago to Santa Rita Vinery, located in the town of Alto Jahuel. This vinery, founded in 1884 by Domingo Fernández Concha, has become a premium destination for its historical interest and the quality of the wines they produce.
You will begin the tour at the “Casa del turismo” and enjoy the garden-variety. An expert guide will explain the whole process of winemaking, through the winemaking, bottling plant and stored. You will visit the historic “bodega uno” made of masonry, besides the famous “Bodega 120 Patriotas”, considered a national monument.
Then you will head to enjoy a tasting of 2 Reserve wines and you can visit the store which has attractive souvenirs and gourmet exclusives.

DAY 12: SANTIAGO

FULL DAY TOUR VIÑA DEL MAR & VALPARAISO

Your tour will depart from Santiago to the coastline located 120 kilometers of Santiago, passing through the fertile “Curacaví and Casablanca Valleys”, its vineyards, fruit plantations and forest reserves. During the route, you will visit two important cities, “Viña del Mar”, the main resort of Chile and “Valparaíso”, a port city founded in the XVI century and declared “World heritage by UNESCO”.
The promenade includes a panoramic tour by the emblematic places of Valparaíso, such as “National Congress”, “O’Higgins Park”, “Italia Park”, “Victoria Square”, “Sotomayor Square” and “Prat” dock located in the same port. You will then walk through the wonderful viewpoints “Atkinson” and “Gervasoni” located in the most important hills of Valparaíso, “Cerro Alegre” and “Cerro Concepción”.
Finally, you will continue this beautiful route in front of the sea to arrive at the city of Viña del Mar, which is very well-known as the “Garden City”fine. You will then walk past the picturesque “Flower Clock” and go through the “Peru Avenue” with its traditional “Casino” and fine “Hotel Del Mar”, which is the first of Chile, founded in 1930.
