Tuscany & Amalfi Coast

San Gimignano – Siena – Pisa – Lucca – Sorrento – Pompeii – Amalfi Coast Towns – Capri

DAY 01

Visit San Gimignano – The picturesque walled city of San Gimignano sits high upon a hill overlooking the plains of Tuscany. The towers that surround the main square can be seen from miles away and date back to over 1,000 years. A visit to the museum located in the main square has a massive reconstruction of the city as it looked between the 13th and 14th centuries.

DAY 02

Visit Siena – A city in the heart of Tuscany, Siena was an independent city-state in the Middle Ages. It has wonderfully preserved medieval buildings, and its Piazza del Campo is a unique, much-photographed landmark that is the site of a festival and exciting horse race twice-per-year.

DAY 03

Visit Pisa & Lucca – Be sure to know that this Tuscan city at the mouth of the River Arno on the Ligurian Sea has some surprises in store, even beyond the tilted buildings around the area of the tower.

Lucca, located in Italian Tuscany, the walled city of Lucca has marvelous architecture that dates back to the Etruscan and Gothic periods. It was the home of Puccini and hosts many musical events. Visitors also enjoy strolling the streets where many old churches have now been converted into art galleries.

DAY 04

Check into Sorrento, free time to explore on your own. Feel the sun in Sorrento! Wonderfully situated in the Bay of Naples, this seaside town on the Amalfi Coast has enthralled the senses for centuries. Stroll the beautiful streets, walking under lemon trees and past quaint shops and cafes as you enjoy the views of looming Mt. Vesuvius and the Isle of Capri.

DAY 05

Pompeii – A short drive will take you to the nearby town of Pompeii where your local guide will show around the remains of the ancient roman City buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79 AD. Enjoy a step back through the Centuries to see one of the World’s best examples of roman civilization.

Drive along the side of the Volcano Vesuvius as far as 1,000 meters altitude. From there onwards one must climb on foot to the top of the crater located at 1,100 meters above sea level. Return to Sorrento in the afternoon

DAY 06

Amalfi Coast – Enjoy a drive along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the World. The first stop will be in Positano to enjoy the view of this jewel of the coast from the top. Continue to Amalfi, the town which has given the name to this drive. Enjoy a walk around the town to see the lovely mosaic facade of St. Andrew’s Cathedral. Light lunch will be served at a typical restaurant. Then continue to Ravello. This delightful quiet village has inspired artists from all over the World: Wagner and Gore Vidal to name just two. Enjoy some time at your disposal to walk around and return to Sorrento.

DAY 07

A relaxed excursion to the Island of Capri with no more than 15 passengers – therefore, your guide can give you an almost personalized experience. The tour starts with a transfer from your Hotel to the Sorrento pier where you will board the fast jetfoil to the Island. Once on Capri, visit the Blue Grotto (weather and sea permitting) and then continue on in a traditional minibus. Your guide will take you to Anacapri, the town on the top of the Island where you will have time to enjoy the shops or to climb to Monte Solaro by chair lift or visit Villa San Michelle.
Return to Sorrento and to your hotel in the afternoon.

DAY 8
